About Dr. Anna Bloomfield

Anna Bloomfield, L.Ac., DACM, is a board certified acupuncturist and herbalist committed to offering compassionate, whole-person care rooted in trauma-informed practices. She earned her BA in Women Studies and Psychology from Goucher College, where she co-led a sexual and reproductive health education club and contributed to the sexual assault survey research team.

During her senior year at Goucher, Anna agreed to cat-sit for a friend while in denial of her ongoing cat allergy. This led to two weeks of allergic misery until her mother suggested she see a medical herbalist for relief. After a few weeks of herbal and acupuncture treatment, her symptoms significantly improved to the point where she eventually adopted her own cat.

Her personal health journey deepened when she was later diagnosed with a chronic pain condition and experienced the challenges of living in daily pain. This experience solidified her passion for acupuncture and holistic medicine, inspiring her to pursue a career dedicated to helping others find relief and balance.

Anna earned her Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Health and Science in 2024. During her training, she completed clinical rotations at Jesse Brown VA Hospital and Chicago Women’s Health Clinic. She currently works at PCHS as a Teaching Assistant, supporting students and faculty in clinical education. Anna is dedicated to working collaboratively with her patients to achieve their health goals and ensuring they feel empowered and in control of their health journey.

Outside of the clinic, Anna is an avid reader and is often at her local public library branch looking for new science fiction and fantasy books. She enjoys performing and watching improv comedy around Chicago when she can. Anna is passionate about advocating for accessible healthcare and social liberation, she dedicates herself to making a positive impact both in and outside of her practice. Anna loves spending time with her cats, her life partner, and her friends, cherishing the simple joys of life and community.
